Bhumi Pednekar COVID-19 positive: Actor Bhumi Pednekar, who is currently in quarantine, took to social media to thank her fans who wished her well after she tested positive for the coronavirus. "Hello all... Am so overwhelmed by all the love that's being poured in.. thank you for keeping me in your prayers," she recently wrote in one of her Instagram Stories.

"I've spent yesterday sleeping and recovering. Just want to say, stay home and step out only if it's really necessary. Follow protocol," said the actor who was diagnosed just a day after Akshay Kumar tested positive. "Trust me this is a lot harder than you can imagine. You don't want to get sick," the Dum Laga Ke Haisha actor revealed she has contracted the coronavirus on Monday.

In her April 5 post, the actor added that she was following the protocol given by her doctor and health professionals. Pednekar also urged those who were in her vicinity recently to get themselves tested.

The actor also advised her fans not to take the current situation lightly. “…even though i followed utmost precaution and care i’ve contracted it,” she warned.

Pednekar shared the mantra of dealing with COVID-19, writing, "Steam, Vitamin C, Food and a happy mood are my go to."

BhumiPednekar also highlighted the importance of proper precautionary measures. She told her fans to "wear a mask, keep washing your hands, maintain social distancing and be mindful of your general behavior."

Pednekar’s Mr Lele co-star Vicky Kaushal also tested positive this week. Informing his fans, he wrote, "In spite of all care and precautions, unfortunately, I have tested COVID-19 positive."

Actor Akshay Kumar was admitted to the hospital on April 5 after testing positive for the disease on April 4. “I hope to be back home soon,” Kumar wrote in his tweet, further revealing that while he was doing fine, he had been admitted to the hospital "under medical advice".

Gangubai Kathiawadi actor Alia Bhatt too recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently isolating at home. Read more on that here.

Pednekar is best known for her roles in films such as Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Netflix's Lust Stories, for a segment directed by Zoya Akhtar. She also acted in films like Sonchiriya, Saand Ki Aankh, Bala, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and Pati Patni Aur Woh. She was last seen in Durgamati released last year and will next be seen in Badhaai Do.
