Rom-coms are my go-to whenever I feel down or out of energy. There's a sense of security and affection which nurtures the melancholic heart and makes it lively and full of love again. After a stressful day at work, a good rom-com will definitely light up your mood.
Girl meets guy, they fall in love and fall apart only to find their way back to each other- this trope has been put to use for ages yet we can't seem to get enough of it. Perhaps the comfort of a happy ending gives us both a sense of hope and security. It tells us that despite bad dates and terrible online encounters while looking for a prospective partner is just a phase that'll pass. Even the most hopeless of unromantic hearts desire this comfort so that they keep looking for love and never lose faith.
