Just like all other celebrities, her story too is full of challenges that she overcame to reach where she stands today. In a recent live session with SheThePeople Bangla, Sarkar had a candid conversation with Anwesa Chakraborty and gave us an insight into her journey as an actor, views on feminism and a lot more.

Here are five highlights about actor Alivia Sarkar we must know

1. Journey into the film industry

Alivia Sarkar's journey started about 12 years back when she would come to Kolkata for her dance classes. Slowly she started playing supporting roles in movies and delivering dance performances. She developed an interest in acting but faced hurdles like all other newcomers. However, she received several offers to work in movies. "I kept going with the flow. All of these appeared to be struggles in my childhood. When I look back, I feel these are all phases I was meant to cross and could not skip," she said and added that she kept working hard and never said no to any opportunity that came her way.

2. Debut daily soap

The actor made her debut as a mainstream actor with ETV Bangla's Dui Prithibi in 2013. She claims that her performance was an average one in the soap opera. However, in 2014, she received appreciation from the audience for her acting in Thik Jeno Love Story where she appeared in only the first six episodes. The actor was only 21 years old at that time. "I bought a TV and set at home to watch myself. It was self-love."

3. Difference between a "good" and a "bad" girl

Talking about differentiating between a "good" and a "bad" girl, Sarkar said that she does not know how one can do that. "There are people who behave well with you on the face but can bring about a huge change in your life by talking ill about you behind your back." Adding, "Again, there are people who are transparent. They speak out whatever they actually have in their heart and not 'sugar coated' words."

4. Alivia Sarkar opens up about her daily struggles

Like all other celebrities, Sarkar too faces struggles on a regular basis. We may often be misled by happy pictures of celebrities with a massive following on Instagram. But the actor clarifies that they too go through many things that they cannot share. "That is not how the audience wants to look at us. So we always need to create a fake image of ourselves."

5. Growing up as a feminist

As a child, Sarkar was never bold or strong. She adapted these qualities with time. "I have been living in Kolkata alone for several years. People easily come to take the advantage of anyone who is alone and I have been cheated many times," Sarkar said. Now, whenever she comes across any wrongdoing, she tries to stand up against it if possible. "If it's not within my capabilities, I cannot do anything about it," she added.
