Refreshing, Empowering : Twitter Hails 'Babli Bouncer'

Babli Bouncer was released on Disney Plus Hotstar on September 23, 2022, and the first few reactions to the film hailed the empowering storing and Tamannaah Bhatia's great portrayal of the protagonist Babli. The movie focuses on the struggles of a female bouncer in Delhi.

Babli Bouncer is a comedy drama directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. The movie stars Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role of Babli, the ace bouncer of Fatehpur Beri, the village known popularly as the 'village of bouncers'. She is a better wrestler compared to many male wrestlers in the village and does not want to cook, clean and live as a housewife in a patriarchal family. She wishes to become independent and get a job. When she gets a job offer as a female bouncer in Delhi, she happily accepts. The movie shows her journey through the ups and downs of her new job, independent life and a blooming romance.

Babli Bouncer Twitter Review Hail Tamannaah Bhatia

The movie also stars Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj and Sahil Vaid and was released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. It was released on Disney Plus Hotstar and the reactions from the audience came out positive. People praised the interesting and empowering story and the comical way of its representation. The audience also appreciated the performance of Tamannaah Bhatia as Babli.

Madhur Bhandarkar's films are known for their strong female characters like Fashion, Calendar Girls and Satta. A Twitter review pointed out another addition to the list and wrote, "Fun, Joyful & Entertaining watch .. @imbhandarkar yet again made a film on a strong women character but this time in a more light hearted manner which also has a nice message on women empowerment. Film will definitely bring smile on your face constantly."

There were also people who found that despite Tamannaah Bhatia's wonderful performance, the movie did not do justice to its empowering plot as a review on Twitter read, "#BabliBouncer is a very template-oriented generic social comedy film. The treatment of Babli Bouncer destroyed the essence of the message that the film was trying to convey." Another one wrote, "I liked a few things about #BabliBouncer, one of them being #TamannaahBhatia shining bright in this interesting premise. Overall the movie seems promising and Tamannaah Bhatia, being a phenomenal actor, did all in her might to put meaning to the story and the idea that aims to throw light on the lives of female bouncers in a world that believes that men are better and more capable in physical strength.
