Arjun Kapoor On His Relationship With Malaika Arora, "You Should Respect Your Partner"

Arjun Kapoor on his relationship: Actor Arjun Kapoor talked about his relationship with Malaika Arora and her past in a recent interview with Film Companion and said that he must respect it. He also that his past has an important role in how he handles his relationship with her.

The couple revealed their relationship in 2019 and have been open about it ever since. When asked about dating someone older than him, he said that one must respect their partner's past, which is one of the reasons that he does not talk about his personal life.

The actor also added that he had previously been in a situation where things happen publicly and it's not always nice because according to him, in all that happens, kids are also affected.

He also said that he tries to keep a respectful boundary with Arora which makes him comfortable with her. Talking about boundaries, Kapoor added that there should be a boundary between one's career and relationships too and his career should not hinge on his relationship.

Kapoor said that he is only talking about his relationship now because there is respect and regard given to the relationship and "it is not in your face".

In the interview, the actor also talked about his father Boney Kapoor marrying Sridevi and said that he respects his father for falling in love again because love is complex and one does not fall in love only once.

He added that as a child, he felt the repercussions of what his father did, hence he can't say that it's okay, but he understands.

"I don't agree... I can't say I'm okay with what my father did, because as a child I felt the repercussions, but I understand it. "

"I can't say 'theek hai, hota hai (It's fine, these things happen)', because I will always wonder. But when I rationalise it as an older person who's dealing with his own relationship highs and lows, you understand," Arjun Kapoor added.

Last year, the actor was also asked about his decision to get married to Arora and he said that they want to get married but aren't thinking about it at the moment.
