Watch: Jhulan Goswami Wishes Anushka Sharma With Glimpse From Biopic

On Anushka Sharma's birthday on May 1, former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami sent warm wishes to the actor on her Instagram. Goswami shared a video of Sharma dressed in a cricket jersey from a teaser of the upcoming film Chakda Xpress and wrote, "Wishing a very happy birthday to the unstoppable force @anushkasharma! It's been wonderful knowing you and working with you."

Anushka Sharma, who was last seen in the 2018 movie Zero, will make a comeback with Chakda Xpress. Sharma will play Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami in the film, which is based on the life of the legendary player. The actor went above and beyond in her preparation for the par and also shot the last leg of the movie. On Sharma's special day, here's what Goswami posted.

When Anushka Sharma Wished Jhulan Goswami On Her Birthday

Earlier, Anushka Sharma wrote a note to the cricketer Jhulan Goswami to wish her a happy birthday. On Jhulan Goswami'si's 40th birthday in 2023, the actor wrote her a heartfelt message to wish her well. 

Sharma praised the cricketer in her Instagram Stories post, which included a photo of the player. She remarked on how pleasant it has been to know her and how she is a cricketer who "defines a generation." The actor wrote, "Happy Birthday Champ! It's been such a privilege to know you... You are a generation-defining cricketer who levelled the playing field for women cricketers in India. More power to you."  Goswami re-shared her story and replied, “Thanks a lot fav."

On social media, Anushka Sharma used to frequently post stills from Chakda Xpress. She had filmed in Kolkata for a schedule of Chakda Xpress last year, and once the schedule was finished, she posted several photos to Instagram from her stay there. The actor praised Kolkata in an interview with IANS, saying, "We had a great filming experience and made memories that will last a lifetime. Jhulan is a national icon of both India and West Bengal; therefore, filming in Kolkata and other areas of the state is a fitting tribute to her legacy and her journey, which began here."

Prosit Roy is the director of Chakda Xpress, which is produced by Anushka's brother Karnesh Ssharma's production, Clean Slate Filmz. It will be released on the OTT platform. The release date is yet to be announced.
