The television show Anupamaa caught the nerves of what people wanted to watch on their television sets--a strong woman with an urgent need to discover and pursue her identity. It was a whiff of fresh air amidst content being aired on the tv which remained bonded with saas-bahu fights or sanskari woman's trope. The show, which was loved by the audience, is now all set to have a prequel series to it, making it the first Hindi language television show to have a parallel running television show.
Unlike the original show, the prequel is not going to be aired on tv but will make its route through the OTT platform. It will delve into the past of Anupamaa, the protagonist played by Rupali Ganguly. It will highlight the incidents which took place 17 years ago when she was young, who was freshly married to Vanraj Shah, played by Sudhanshu Pandey.
The two were young and troubles had started showing up in their marriage much before their divorce. The prequel Anupama Namaste America is going to establish how incidents from the past influenced Anupamaa's life and decision-making process in the television show. It will be like a bonus for all the Anupamaa fans who eagerly are waiting to know more about her and her life.
