Ameesha Patel cheque fraud case: Actor Ameesha Patel is in legal trouble after a petitioner took her to court alleging check bounce fraud. As per the petitioner, Patel got him to invest in a film which she didn't do later. When the petitioner asked for his money back, the actor allegedly gave him a cheque that bounced in the bank.
The disputed amount in the case is of Rs 2.5 crores. The next hearing in the case is scheduled in two weeks. Both the parties have been asked to present clarification in writing by the Jharkhand High Court.

1. Ameesha Patel is the daughter of Mumbai-based Gujarati couple Amit and Asha Patel. She is the older sister of actor Ashmit Patel.
2. Patel completed her graduation in Economics from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, with a gold medal.
3. Ameesha Patel made her debut as an actor opposite Hrithik Roshan in 2000 film Kaho Na...Pyaar Hai. She went on to star in several hit films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Humraaz, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Race 2.
4. In 2004, Ameesha Patel sent her father a legal notice on accounts of mismanaging funds worth Rs 120 million and demanding the money back.
5. In 2020, Patel alleged that she was mistreated by Lok Jankshakti Party candidate Prakash Chandra while campaigning for the Bihar assembly election. "Even as I arrived back last evening in Mumbai, he started sending threatening calls and messages and asking me to speak highly of him as I had been honest about my terrible experience with him,” she said.
