Fans have been asking about All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 after the South Korean apocalyptic series took the OTT space by storm earlier this year. Due to its intriguing and entertaining plot and cliffhanger climax for season 1, viewers are searching for answers on when the show will be back with its next instalment.
There is no doubt that K-dramas have steadily yet swiftly captured the global market, including that in India. Another such phenomenon being The Squid Game, which broke records and trended online for days. The Internet was flooded with memes on the show and reels on people making Dalgona candy, taking The Squid Game challenge.
Similarly, All Of Us Are Dead was on Netflix's daily US Top 10 list for seven straight days. It was released on January 28, this year. Much before its release, the series had already hyped up the crowd as it is based on a digital Webtoon comic.

The show stars Park Ji-hoo as Nam Onjo, Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong San, Jo Yi-hyun as Choi Nam-ra, Lomon as Lee Su-hyeok and Yoo In-soo as Yoon Gwi Nam, amongst others. All Of Us Are Dead has been directed by Lee Jae-kyu and Chun Sung-il, it is written by Kim Nam-soo.
The plot revolves around an outbreak of a zombie virus named Jonas virus, following which students are trapped at their school. As students try to fight for their lives, they must make and break alliances that could put their other colleagues in grave danger. While the trope of an apocalypse fueled by zombies is not new, the series twists the idea by setting its premised in a high school. It combines the narrative of surviving a zombie attack along with the coming of age story of all students.
All Of Us Are Dead Season 2: What Can We Expect?
*spoilers ahead
The show consists of 12 episodes and each one successfully ends with a cliffhanger, forcing viewers to press on the next episode option and making it a binge-watch series. The characters in the series know what zombies are and there is a constant reference to another South Korean language film that is critically acclaimed and comes from the same genre, Train To Busan.
The director of the series revealed the possible plans for the continuation after the finale to The Korean Herald and said, "If the first season can be seen as having presented humanity's survival, the next season can talk about the survival of zombies. I hope to present viewers with another season."

The end of the series is a cliffhanger with the character Nam-ra, played by Jo Yi-hyun, hinting at the continuation of the storyline. The last scene makes viewers believe that a second season might soon be announced. But as of now, there has been no official announcement by the creators or the online platform of a possible release date or a second season for the show.
Although this has not stopped the viewers from coming up with their own theories of a possible continuation. One is that Cheong-san, who initially fought the zombies may not be dead as the dead of Gwi-nam was shown on screen but not Cheong-san's. The other one is that Nam-re is still alive as she was bitten but never turned fully into a zombie. The last one comes from the classic mistrust in power and state forces, the government is weaponising the virus. By the end of the series, it shows government officials raiding the home of a scientist, who started the zombie outbreak but just brings back the zombie wife of the scientist and the son. Again leading to a hanging thread as to what happens next.
On being compared with the Squid Game, the director of the show, Lee Jae-kyun said that it puts the burden on his shoulders. He also expressed surprise at the show's success as he had not expected the reaction to be anything like this. In an interview before, he had said that the possibility of season 2 will only be considering the feedback and love the first season gets. He also thinks it will be fun to extend the current story and put the spotlight on zombies for a change as they try to survive.
