Gangubai Kathiawadi New Release Date: Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt will now release on a different date. The movie revolves around the story of real-life mafia queen Gangubai. She was active as a brothel owner in Mumbai in the 1960s.
The film was announced in 2019 and it created a buzz instantly as people were quite fascinated with the subject of the film.
Bhansali's film has faced a lot of controversies since its release. For instance, a defamation suit was filed against those involved with the project. Gangubai’s brothel and business operated in Kamathipura in Mumbai. The residents of that area have also raised issues with Bhatt’s film, claiming it shows the area in a poor light.
Gangubai Kathiawadi was initially slated for a release on July 30 this year but was pushed due to the COVID-19 situation in the country. It was announced some time ago that the film will be releasing in cinemas next year on January 6, 2022. As per the latest update, however, the film will release on 25th February this year.

Gangubai Kathiawadi will be releasing on theatres. Producer Pen Studios issued a clarification that the film will release in cinemas and is made for the “big screen experience.”
