Alia Bhatt Mahesh Bhatt relationship: Filmmaker and actor Alia Bhatt's father Mahesh Bhatt turned 73 today. The Dear Zindagi actor took to her Instagram handle to wish her father.

In the pictures she shared, we can see her making grand preparations for the celebration. Bhatt's boyfriend, actor Ranbir Kapoor was also a part of the celebrations.

In an Instagram post, Bhatt wrote, "73 years young! Happy birthday papa." Her friends, colleagues and fans also wished the director on his special day. 1. Alia's wishes Mahesh Bhatt's on his 72nd birthday

Last year, Bhatt shared a childhood picture with her father. "I have nothing long or nothing wise to say today," she wrote. She then said that their time that year had been "too rich to fit into a caption." But the actor added a line from "their favourite film," which said, "Look inside yourself, you are more than what you've become... remember who you are.. remember!" She finally wished him and said that he was "a good man", concluding with "never believe anything else."

2. When she missed her dad

In the beginning of the COVID-19 imposed lockdown last year, Bhatt shared an adorable picture with her father. In the black and white picture, we see the actor sitting on her bed while her father gives her a hug. "Stay home &... go through old pictures when you’re missing your daddy," her caption read.

3. The connection between her father and light

When the Raazi actor was younger, she would kiss her dad on his forehead before going off to school and he would say "Aaaaaah .. light aa gayi." At that time, she did not fully understand what it meant. All she knew was that light had way more depth than just illuminating their lives. "Light means so much," she said as she shared a picture of two candles lit in a dark room.

In her view, light signified hope, beauty, strength and even unity. "But no matter where we are and what we are going through we must always try and keep the light within us alive," she added.

4. When Alia called her dad "the wisest"

In 2019, Alia Bhatt wished her father on his birthday with another throwback picture. In the photograph, we see Bhatt from her childhood days. She said that it had been great knowing him for the past 26 years. Calling him a "good guy," Bhatt continued, "Probably the best.. also the wisest.. also you're very funny.. did I tell you I think you're super talented too?" Wishing him a happy birthday, Bhatt said that he amazed her every day. She added that there is no one like him.

5. The father's day wish

Wishing her father on Father's Day two years ago, Bhatt said, "Papa kehte hain — Dont be perfect. Perfect is the enemy of very good. Happy Fathers Day my Magic Man."
