Ann Alexia Anra: Remember Akshay Kumar’s co-star Ann Alexia Anra from Hera Pheri? Devi Prasad's grand-daughter who is kidnapped by Kabira and his gang? That little girl is all grown up now and here's what she is up to these days.
Anra starred as a child actor alongside Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal in Hera Pheri, a comedy of errors that was released in the year 2000. The story revolves around the kidnapping case of businessman Devi Prasad’s granddaughter Rinku. All grown up now, Anra is now a sustainability and pro-environment advocate.
Now based in Chennai, Ann Alexia Anra calls herself an “ex- actor”. Apart from Hera Pheri, she also featured in numerous ad films and shared the screen with Kamal Haasan in Avvai Shanmughi. Currently though, Anra works as an environmentalist, an entrepreneur and a sustainability consultant.
While her reel life may be behind her, anra continues to share pictures from various film sets and with her former co-stars on Instagram. She had once shared a picture with Akshay Kumar and captioned it, "The best shoot for least work done."
Anra also spoke about how Kumar would play small pranks on her and her mother on set in an interview. She also talked about how she would offer sweets and lollipops to her co-stars. “Interestingly, I didn’t know anything about the Bollywood Industry. So I didn’t know why Akshay Kumar or Suniel Shetty were. So I wasn’t nervous” said Anra.
Anra was quite open about her current and past acting aspirations. She said that she enjoyed acting as a child more than she does as an adult. “Sometimes I get some really nice calls from Mumbai for ads that I do. Like I recently did a Colgate national campaign directed by Pradeep Sarkar. But I really feel I was better as an actor as a kid. Hence, I don’t want to make the effort of coming into the industry as an adult actor” she said.
The ex-actor has also taken initiatives such as ‘Wasted 360 Solutions’ and ‘Take Me Back To Chennai’ to promote sustainability and the protection of the environment.
