Medal Or Look Of Awe? Kajol Celebrates 23rd Marriage Anniversary With Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn and Kajol's love story dates back 23 years ago. Today, they celebrated their anniversary in a rather filmi style as Kajol posted a picture of the two on her social media feed and reminded in one-word descriptions their belongingness to each other. But their meet up back in time was reported as "the call of destiny" and "accidental meeting."

The Tribhanga actor Kajol posted an old picture of the two posing together in white coloured clothing. She shared it on Instagram with the caption, "Running, limping, kicking, screaming here we are 23 years later. Do we deserve a medal or a look of awe? Either ways since we both know how u feel about award functions I'm taking a bow (emoji) now (emojis)."

The Instagram users have been sending their love and congratulations the couple's way as they celebrate their anniversary. Earlier, Kajol had posted a picture with her mother-in-law, Veena Devgan, wishing her a happy birthday and wrote, "When u marry a Man U don't only marry him. It's his whole family as well. So here's a cheer to someone who has always been there for me and on many days I feel more married to than even my husband (emoji)."

Ajay Devgn Kajol Love Story: The Call Of Destiny

They first met at the set of Hulchul in 1995. Reportedly, after the film's lead actor Divya Bharti passed away, Kajol was taken as the replacement at the last moment. During the shoot, she met Ajay Devgn.

In an interview, Kajol said that initially, she did not like Devgn and that being a jolly person herself, she found it difficult to match steps with Devgn, who was an introvert.

In another interview, Kajol remembered how she had bad-mouthed Devgn ten minutes before meeting him. In an interview with The Humans Of Bombay, she said, "We met 25 years ago, on the sets of Hulchul- I was ready for the shot and asked, 'Where's my hero?' Someone pointed him out-he was broodily sitting in a corner. So 10 minutes before I met him, I bitched about him!"

Over the years, they became friends and gradually began dating. They dated for four years but never told anyone about it. "We never resorted to the usual 'I love you' routine. A proposal never happened. We grew with each other. Marriage was never discussed, but it was always imminent," Kajol had said.

On February 24, 1999, the couple got married in a Maharashtrian style wedding. The marriage was a private affair and no professional camera person was hired for the wedding. They soon left for a two-month long honeymoon to Europe.

The two have a daughter named Nysa and a son named Yug together.
