Aditi Rao Hydari Birthday: It is not just the choice of films or anthologies by the actor which can be hard-hitting, Hydari has never shied away from speaking on issues important to her. Whether it be the gender-based pay gap or equal opportunities she always put her point forth. On her birthday here are five inspirational quotes by Aditi Rao Hydari.
Aditi Rao Hydari debuted in 2006 with the Tamil film, Sringaram and rose to popularity with her 2011 Hindi film, Yeh Saali Zindagi. Her acting in Geeli Puchi in the anthology Ajeeb Dastaan, showed how diverse she is as an actor. In the show, she played the role of an upper-caste accountant, who is married but develops feelings for her co-worker, played by Konkana Sen Sharma.
Here are five quotes from the actor which will blow your mind:
1 Hydari has never flinched from talking about the existing gender-based pay gap in the film industry. "I don't really understand why we are paid less than male actors because we put in equal efforts. We deserve better pay, equal to what (male) actors get." She told to PTI in an interview in 2017.
2 Remember the time women took to social media to protest against the tax on sanitary pads in 2017? Hydari was there too. She tweeted, "Morning @arunjaitley sanitary napkins are necessary not a luxury and more women should be able to afford them minus GST-pl #LahuKaLagaan."

3 Every time someone tells you that it is bad to be a feminist or feminists are selfish women or bad women, remember what Hydari said about feminism, "Every normal person today should be feminist. Being a feminist should be considered normal. The fact that women make half the world should be respected. Every human is a feminist and if they are not, something is wrong with them, It should be in the upbringing and not looked upon as something unusual."
4 She shared her thoughts on why is it so important for women to be financially independent, and said "Financial independence is very important. It gives you the confidence to believe that you don't have to depend on anybody practically. When you start working and earning your money, it gives you a thrill. The fact that I am not answerable to anybody empowers me."
5 "The fact is that India is regressive, it is sad that it is like that. We come from very free-spirited heritage of art and culture. If people view wearing bikini as a problem then dirt is in their mind and not in mine. I am comfortable wearing a bikini. As long as people filming it are not going to make it cheap, I don t have a problem," she said in an interview to News18 while giving a promotional interview for the film Boss
