Khatija Rahman shared the news of her engagement on January 2, 2022, with her followers on social media. Many singers and musicians like Neeti Mohan, Sid Sriram, Harshdeep Kaur, congratulated her on the big day.
Rahman dressed in a pink attire by fashion stylist Shruti Agarwal, got engaged to Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed in a private ceremony.
Who Is Khatija Rahman?
1. Khatija Rahman was born in a multicultural family in Chennai. She is the eldest daughter of the Oscar-winning Indian music composer, AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu.
2. The 25-year-old, Rahman made her singing debut in Rajinikanth's sci-fi Tamil movie 'Enthiran' with the song Pudhiya Manidha. The movie which was famously released as "Robot" in Hindi, also starred former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai.
3. She also sang a song in Kirti Sanon surrogacy drama, "Mimi", named Rock A Bye Baby that was released in 2021.
4. Rahman released her own music video "Farishton" on YouTube which got more than 1 million views. The music was composed by her father AR Rahman and the lyrics were written by Muuna Shoukath Ali.
5. Music legend Lata Mangeshkar is her inspiration in music since her childhood. The Bharat Ratna awardee gave Khatija her personal compliments and blessings on the release of her new music video.
5. Rahman got engaged to the aspiring entrepreneur Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed. He works with AR Rahman and Amit Trivedi as a sound engineer.

6. Khatija Rahman declared her engagement over her social media handle by sharing a collage with her fans. The event took place on December 29, 2021, which is also the birth date of Rahman.
7. In 2o20, Taslima Nasreen, the Bangladeshi novelist and writer, called Khatija, "burqa suffocating". Khatija, however, replied to her in the most humble way and explained to her how true feminism did not mean bashing other women or bringing their fathers to the spotlight. She said in her," I’m sorry you feel suffocated by my attire. Please get some fresh air, cause I don’t feel suffocated rather I’m proud and empowered for what I stand for."
8. In an earlier event in 2019, Khatija lashed back at the trolls for her appearance in a burqa at an event to celebrate ten years of the award-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. She condemned the trolls directed towards her parents for making her wear a burqa saying, "I would like to say that the attire I wear or the choices I make in life has nothing to do with my parents."
