1. Green grass over a treadmill
Jariwala emphasised upon the importance of a down-to-earth lifestyle, "When restrictions were lifted, we started travelling and went camping and hiking which gave us a lot of joy. I have created a small garden in my house, on the balcony. Just going back to basics has brought a lot of calm in my life. In fact today, rather than the treadmill I prefer walking on the green grass."
2. Down-to-earth lifestyle
Most women we know today are either struggling to survive in the male-dominated industries or are oppressed inside their houses. Women are rarely given the chance to wake up and smell the coffee and decide for themselves.
She says, "The one thing I have realised in the past one year is that we are all somewhere getting back to our roots. We have simplified our lives now and many of us have opted for minimal living. That gives me a lot of peace. Now I am fine with not buying an expensive dress and using that money to fulfill someone’s basic needs."
3. Mental violence
Any intention, action, or conduct that impairs a person's psychological integrity through coercion or threats is termed Mental Violence. Even though just like mental health, acknowledging the fact that mental violence exists is important.
She said that there is a lot of mental violence that may happen in a marriage. This violence leads to one being unhappy in life and this is completely unacceptable. Hence, if you are staying in a marriage and ignoring the fact that you are being mentally abused, step up and address it. Remember that you cannot heal in the same situation that made you sick in the first place.
4. The biggest fear
After facing mental violence in her first marriage, Shefali Jariwala made up her mind to get a divorce. Though it is considered taboo by many, she went ahead with it without caring much about society. Jariwala said in her interview that the biggest fear of the country is, 'Log kya kahenge'. Jariwala however believes 'Log kya hi kehlenge?!"
5. Adoption
Shefali Jariwala along with her husband Parag Tyagi wish to adopt a girl child. She said that she wants to adopt even though they can have children. Jariwala also spoke about how society pressurises couples to get pregnant and opposes adoption.
