200 Halla Ho release date: Rinku Rajguru and Amol Palekar starrer 200 Halla Ho will start streaming this week on OTT. The film is said to highlight the atrocities faced by Dalit women due to their caste and gender. Apparently based on a real incident, the film has been directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, best known for helming the 2019 film The Music Teacher, starring Manav Kaul and Divya Dutta.
Apart from Rajguru and Palekar, the film also features actors Barun Sobti, Saloni Batra, Sahil Khattar and Indraneil Sengupta in pivotal roles. The film will mark Palekar's return to movies in more than a decade. A popular actor-director of Hindi and Marathi cinema, he is best known for films like Chitchor, Gol Maal, Rajnigandha, Chhoti Si Baat, Naram Garam and Baaton Baaton Mein. As a director, Palekar has helmed Hindi films like Thodasa Rumani Ho Jaye, Daayraa, Anahat, Paheli and Marathi films such as Samaantar and Dhoosar.
What's the film about?
200 Halla Ho tells us the story of 200 armed and masked Dalit women who marched into a court hearing and lynched a gangster who was accused of harassment and rape. The women suffered at hands of the gangster for 15 long years before they found courage to call out apathy of the system and take matters into their own hands. Dasgupta said in an interview that he wanted to convey it to the audience that women should be treated equally and that Dalits’ lives matter too. "This is not a film for me, but a shoulder that I give to the movement towards social equality," he said.

The film will be streaming exclusively on Zee5. Viewers will need an active subscription of the OTT platform to be able to view it.
