Meet IU, The Globally Renowned South Korean Idol and Actor

 K-pop soloist Lee Ji-eun known by her stage name IU stands at the pinnacle of South Korea’s entertainment scene.

The Korean singer, who is all set to make her comeback, has released the music video teaser for her upcoming title track LILAC ahead of its premiere. The fifth album of the same title will be dropped on March 25.

In her 13 years long career, IU has been evolving and expanding as a singer and actor. Exploring various genres in music made her a solid musician and a treasured artist in her homeland as well as worldwide.

• At the age of 15, IU debuted as a singer with her first mini album Lost and Found. 
• Her following album Real’s, that released in 2010, lead single Good Day achieved national stardom.
• In the same year, her track was enlisted in Billboard’s 100 Greatest K-Pop Songs.
• The 28-year-old singer earned an informal title in the South Korean entertainment industry, Nation's Little Sister.
• The Korean singer made it to Forbes magazine's annual Korea Power Celebrity list in 2012.
• When IU was trying to make her debut in the Korean music industry, she was scammed by a fake entertainment agency.
• The actor won the title of Best New Actress at the 2014 KBS Drama Awards for her performance in You're the Best, Lee Soon-shin.
• In 2020, IU released the single titled Eight in collaboration with BTS rapper Suga.
• She has been an ambassador for South Korea's National Police Agency in their anti-bullying campaigns in schools since 2012.
