Lisa Sthalekar, a former Australian cricketer slammed the BCCI for not communicating with Indian cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy.

In her latest tweet, she expressed her anger over how the BCCI allegedly didn't reach out to her and check on how she is coping. She then added that although she is a former player of the Australian Cricketers' Association (ACA), they always reach out to the players daily.

"The stress, anxiety, fear and grief that many players have experienced through this pandemic will take its toll on them as individual and inadvertently affect the game,” Sthalekar wrote on Twitter.

  1. Lisa Sthalekar is an Australian commentator, former cricketer, and captain of Australia's International Women's cricket team.
  2. She was born on August 13, 1979, in Pune, Maharashtra to Indian parents.
  3. She was then adopted by Haren and Sue Sthalekar, an Indian-Australian couple.
  4. It was Lisa's father who introduced her to cricket during her growing years. She didn't know that women play cricket too until her father took her to a women's test match between Australia and England at North Sydney Oval.
  5. Lisa Sthalekar then joined the Gordon Club in Sydney. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sydney University.
  6. She has been a part of four World Cup winnings squads - at the 2005 ODI WC, 2013 ODI WC, 2010 T20 WC and 2012 T20 WC.
  7. Sthalekar is an acclaimed all-rounder player who was the first female cricketer to complete the double of 1000 ODI runs and 100 wickets.
  8. She won the ICC Women’s Player of the Year in successive years (2007,2008). Lisa was also awarded the ICC Women’s T20 Player of the Year in 2012.
  9. Sthalekar subsequently retired from cricket and switched to being a commentator on television. Her cricket career came to an ending when Australia won the World Cup in her home country, India.
