Man Kaur, ace sprinter and fitness icon known for defying norms with an athletics career that began well into her old age, marked her 105th birthday on Monday. The Patiala resident has won 31 international gold medals and over 13 national medals, setting the inspiration bar high by actualising the maxim 'age is just a number.'
Kaur stepped into the world of athletics at the age of 93 and has since broken various records. Last year in March, she was awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar, the country's highest civilian award for women. Read more about her here.
So devoted is she to her passion that she reportedly wakes up at 4 am every morning for training and runs a distance of about 20 kilometers. In an interview withย The Hindu, she had said, โMujhe sports pasand hai... Changa daud raha hu, ruk na kyun bhai?"
