During a match in the Maharaja T20 KSCA tournament, Samit, playing for the Mysuru Warriors, hit a six that sparked comparisons to his famous father.

While Rahul Dravid, a cricketing legend and a household name, his wife, Vijeta Pendharkar, often remains away from the limelight. A successful doctor by profession, she is also a loving mother to their two sons, Samit and Kavish.

More About Rahul Dravid's Family

Born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Vijeta comes from a family of achievers. Her father was a Wing Commander in the Indian Air Force, and her mother is a renowned dietician. Following in her family's footsteps, Vijeta pursued a career in medicine, graduating as a General Surgeon in 2002 making a significant milestone in her educational journey.

Pendharkars and Dravids became close family friends when Vijeta's father was transferred to Bengaluru. It was during the Pendharkar family's stay in Bengaluru when Rahul and Vijeta became friends, and this childhood friendship spanned 35 years. 

Despite their contrasting careers, they found common ground in their shared values and unwavering support for each other's dreams. Dravid, known for his dedication to cricket, found in Vijeta a pillar of strength and understanding. It wasn't long enough before the 'dosti turned into rishtedari' and they got engaged in 2003 but their marriage was postponed as Pendharkar had to focus on her career as she was freshly graduated and Dravid had to focus on the ICC World Cup of 2003, held in Sout Africa. In 2004, the couple tied the knot in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

A few years later, Pendharkar decided to put her career on hold to focus on her family. She became his rock, his confidante, and his biggest cheerleader, managing the home front and providing him with the stability he needed to excel in his professional life.
