Royal Challengers Banglore's (RCB) win in the Women's Premier League (WPL) was indeed a special triumph as it was the franchise's first win in both men's and women's tournaments. RCB's men's team, who are yet to lift a trophy in the Indian Premier League (IPL), gave a Guard of Honour welcome to the women's team after their maiden win in the WPL 2024 Finals.

As the win had abuzz many digital conversations, it was speculated that the women's team's victory celebration suddenly became an invitation for many toxic comparisons to their male counterparts of RCB.

The RCB unbox event kicked off with much fanfare at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, but one gesture from the RCB men's team towards their women compatriots took the cake.

Led by charismatic captain Virat Kohli, the men formed a guard of honour as the WPL champions, led by Smriti Mandhana, emerged onto the field during the RCB Unbox event.

The crowd erupted in applause as Mandhana with her team, holding the WPL trophy high, walked through the guard of honour formed by players like Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf du Plessis. The moment was captured on video and quickly went viral, with fans lauding the sportsmanship and camaraderie within the RCB family.
