In a heartfelt attempt to lift the spirits of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) camp franchise owner, Kavya Maran visited the Orange Army's dressing room to give them a pep talk following their devastating loss in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final, which helped to lift morale at the camp. The Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Pat Cummins and Company by eight wickets in the IPL 2024 championship game at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.
KKR Dominates IPL 2024 Final
The Knight Riders won their first IPL title since 2014, having taken eight wickets with them going into 10.3 overs. Upon losing the summit fight, Kavya, the owner of SRH, broke down in tears. She went on to give a motivational talk to her squad in the changing room.
In an attempt to cheer up the players, Kavya expressed her pride in the manner in which the Sunrisers performed during the competition, changing the face of T20 cricket in the process. "I'm really proud of all of you. You've really changed the way we play T-20 cricket. And we're on everyone's lips. Today had to be the off day. However, great play with the bat and ball. In a video released by the franchise, Kavya stated, "Thank you so much. Even though we didn't win last year, I think all the fans came out in numbers because of the potential you guys had."
"You've made us proud." 🧡

SRH finished second in the IPL 2024 points standings with 17 points from 14 games. After defeating Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals (RR), the former champs were able to arrange a meeting with the top-seeded KKR. However, SRH suffered the lowest score in the history of the IPL final when they lost the first match by eight wickets. SRH finished second in the IPL for the second time. "People are speaking of us. Even if KKR won, everyone would be talking about the kind of cricket we've played. Regards, and take care. It looks nothing like what you see here. We took part in the finals. Kavya remarked that it wasn't just any old game.
The lowest total in an IPL final ever is this one. The most effective bowlers for the Knight Riders were Mitchell Starc (2/14), Andre Russell (3/19), and Harshit Rana (2/24) as SRH just did not show up for the crucial match. After choosing to bat first, SRH had a dreadful start, losing their best players, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, for only six runs. Travis Head was removed for a first-ball duck against a stunning outswinger.
Before that, Abhishek was bowled by Mitchell Starc on the fifth ball of the first over, a peach of a delivery opening up the left-hander before hitting the top of the off stump.SRH were in all sorts of trouble as Starc accounted for the wicket of Rahul Tripathi to leave them reeling at 21/3 in the fifth over, the swing doing the trick for KKR bowlers early on. First-change bowler Harshit Rana continued the good work and got rid of Nitish Reddy (13). Andre Russell dismissed Aiden Markram in his first over as SRH slipped to 62/5 in the 11th over.SRH could not recover from there.
