India Shoots For Gold

Comprising Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, Divyansh Singh Panwar, and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, the team secured victory with a total score of 1893.7 points in the individual qualification round. This score surpassed the previous world record, which had been set by China at the Baku World Championship. South Korea secured second place with 1890.1 points, while China came in third with a total score of 1888.2.

In the team event, Rudrankksh, who finished third in the qualification round, contributed 631.6 points. Aishwary registered 631.6 points, and Divyansh scored 629.6 points for India.

Notably, India not only claimed gold in the team event but also had all three shooters qualify for the top 8 in the 10m Air Rifle event. However, in accordance with Asian Games rules allowing only two participants from each country to qualify for the final, Rudrankksh and Aishwary advanced to the final, while Divyansh missed out.

The initial series saw a slight dip in performance from the Indian shooters, with Rudrankksh and Divyansh both scoring 104.8 points, and Aishwary earning 104.1 points. Nevertheless, they quickly regained their composure and steadily improved their scores in subsequent series. By the sixth series, the team had not only secured victory but also broken the world record with an impressive total of 1893.7 points.
