Anju Jain, the head coach of Bangladesh Women’s cricket team, has refused to accompany the team traveling to Pakistan for the upcoming series.
She and two other persons from the support staff will not be traveling to Pakistan for the limited-overs tour which will last less than a fortnight due to the political tensions between India and Pakistan. The Bangladesh board has already appointed an interim coach and provided other replacements for the two members of the support staff who refused to travel with the team.
The board has appointed former Head Coach Dipu Roy Chowdhury as the interim coach while Javed Omar has been appointed as the manager for the tour.
Imdadul Haq, the seasoned coach will be assisting Roy Chowdhury and Anowar Hossain will be the team trainer.
In response to the possibilities of terror threats that one might experience while playing in Pakistan, BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told SportsCafe that they are in touch with Pakistan over the security measures taken by them while ICC is also monitoring everything.
Bangladesh Women will play 3 T20Is and 2 ODIs against host Pakistan on a tour extending from 26th October to 5th November.
