What Rules Did Simrun Chopra Break?
When asked about a rule she had broken, Simrun confidently stated, "I don’t live by the rules." For Simrun, breaking rules is synonymous with asserting her independence. When questioned about who she breaks rules for, her response was: "My independence." This emphasis on personal freedom underscores her commitment to living life on her own terms, regardless of societal expectations or judgements.
In the face of criticism or gossip, Simrun remains unfazed. "Let them say they don’t pay my bills," she retorted when asked about the opinions of others. Interestingly, while Simrun is unapologetically rebellious in her own right, she also extends her support to others seeking to defy conventions. "Anything that helps them grow and move forward," she stated when questioned about which rules she would allow others to break.
However, Simrun's rebellion isn't limited to societal norms; it extends to her personal relationships as well. When asked if she had ever gone against her husband's advice, her response was matter-of-fact: "Obviously, should not you?" underscoring her commitment to mutual respect and partnership. Moreover, one particularly striking revelation from Simrun was her decision to split the wedding expenses equally with her partner. "I refused to put the entire bill for my wedding; I said, 'Let's split 50-50," she revealed.
Looking ahead, Simrun offered a piece of advice to her younger self: "Don’t take too long to think; just do it." Through her unwavering determination and refusal to conform, she inspires others to break free from societal constraints and live authentically on their own terms.
