Happiness and fulfilment are deeply personal and can come from various sources, and they don't always depend on having a life partner, despite what society or movies might suggest. True satisfaction often comes from embracing your own path and nurturing joy-bringing relationships. This relationship can also be a deep friendship—it can be a group or perhaps just one close friend.

If you’re one of those rule breakers who has challenged the idea that fulfilment only happens with a partner, you might understand that true peace, satisfaction, and joy come from within, regardless of your marital status. One such rule-breaker is social media content creator Harshita Gupta, who exemplifies this mindset.

In the latest episode of The Rule Breaker Show, hosted by Shaili Chopra, founder of SheThePeople & Gytree, Harshita Gupta challenges the age-old notion that a "happily ever after" can only be achieved with a life partner. Harshita Gupta, known for her witty takes on relationships and marriage, shared her refreshing perspective on the topic.

Can There Be A Happily Ever After Without A Life Partner?

Harshita revealed her real thoughts on the subject. "I don't understand the concept of arranged marriage. Sure, a lot of people think that you need someone to spend your life with, but that can be your friend as well."

The creator who frequently posts sarcastic skits about ideal relationships, shared a personal anecdote that led to her shift in mindset. “So, I used to live with my female friends before marriage. We were three flatmates living together. One of my friends once said, ‘Let’s buy a penthouse in New York. After all, we are independent. We’ll take Rajkumar Bhaiyya from here. We’ll cook dal and rice there. We’ll live a great life. What is the need for getting married?’ At that time, we couldn’t find the right guy, and our parents were against us getting married due to our age.”

Emphasising her point, she added, "Togetherness is important, but it doesn’t have to be with a life partner or a male partner. Two people who are friends and decide not to marry can still have a happily ever after."

Harshita's views sparked significant reactions from netizens, many of whom expressed their agreement in the comments. One remarked, "Absolute honest take on the “Happy Ever After” with or without a romantic life partner!! A concept so enormously twisted by society, that we almost tend to drown in it." Another commenter added, "Finally someone said it! Never wanted to marry! Just wanted company! Be it platonic also. As long as it's happily ever after ❤️"
