UP Elections 2022 : List Of BJP Female Candidates

The party-in-power in Uttar Pradesh is giving its all to the election. The party is already in hot waters because of the farmer protest that has tarnished the image of the party a lot. On top of that, the rival political parties are also giving a tough competition. One of the prominent issues in UP is the safety of women. So, is the party giving opportunity to BJP female candidates to display their inclusive nature?

BJP released its campaign for 2022 UP elections in which issues of farmers, cow protection, terrorism and caste ranked high. Instead of a dedicated manifesto for women like Congress, BJP is relying on few but strong women candidates to win the support of women population. The party released the list of 107 candidates for the 2 phases of election out of which 60% candidates are Dalits and OBC. The list includes names of only 10 BJP female candidates who will be the support system of the party in 2022 UP elections.

10. Mriganka Singh - Kairana

The list of 107 candidates includes only 10 BJP female candidates. Obviously, women participation is not an agenda for BJP in 2022 UP elections. Instead the party is trying to win the favour of castes such as Dalits, brahmans, OBC and thakurs by including majority candidates from these groups. The less number of female candidates has given the rival parties to take a toll on BJP.

However, BJP is currently trying to re-establish the trust of various caste groups as there have been a lot of turmoil because of the farmer's protest. The result of BJP's caste led campaign will only be decided on the result day. Till then, we can just make assumptions as elections and public interest cannot be predicted.
