As a veteran educationist and a go-getting entrepreneur, my journey started when I was just 24 years old and had my first daughter. My family and I shifted to Kuwait to seek growth in careers and look for financial opportunities. There, I was in search of a preschool that would cater to my daughter’s needs and potential as a student, giving her all-around growth.
However, the numerous preschools that I visited did not live up to my expectations. This finally led me to set up my own preschool, which later received the highest ranking amongst Asian ex-pats within a year of its inception. My main objective to take this initiative was to address the concern of fulfilling a growing child’s needs and wants.
Due to personal reasons, my family relocated back to India. In 2003, when I welcomed my second daughter. Looking for the same holistic and comprehensive opportunity for my children to excel in India, there was a newly found passion that fueled my desire to start a, now well-renowned, preschool chain called Little Elly. The first playschool was set up in Bellandur, Bengaluru in the year 2004-05.
At this point, I felt that I needed to do something more and take an extra step to give back to society. With a motive of making quality education accessible, I took up the role of a consultant for Priyadarshini Seva Kendra Ashram School, a rural school in Ulsoor. I also overlooked the curriculum and redesigned it to offer the best possible mix of fun and learning to the students. To utilise my expertise and profound knowledge to its fullest, I also rendered curriculum support to the Prabodhan Foundation, an NGO which works for the upliftment of underprivileged children, both economically and socially. I also rendered my mentorship and guidance to those who share a common insight into the vision, mission, and philosophy of education at all levels and want to revolutionise this industry.
How I started pre-school chains to bridge the gap
As an entrepreneur striving to modernise early childhood care and education, my inspiration stems from the realisation that even small changes can significantly impact the lives of future generations. My passion lies in equipping the youngest citizens of our country with self-confidence, compassion, and a strong value system. I believe in fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime and providing a supportive environment for students to develop their own identities. By combining academics with a harmonious approach to early education, I hope to create a stimulating and exclusive learning experience for every child.
How I Am Changing the Future Generation
Driven by these beliefs, I have created unrivalled and consistently evolving curriculums that aim to help children reach their full potential. This dedication has led to the success of Little Elly, a franchise brand that provides leadership and employment opportunities to women.
