Two curious souls met on a dating app, looking for a bit of romance. Treading cautiously, they took the conversation to Instagram and decided to get to know each other before meeting in person. Several months of exchanging cutesy messages later, they connected face to face and 'it was love at first sight!' Four years later, they've sealed the deal and are now happily married, crafting their unique happily-ever-after. This is the endearing saga of Camille and Tabitha, an interracial WLW (woman-loving-woman) couple who are making the internet swoon with their eclectic wedding photographs.
Sharing their story with SheThePeople, Camille narrated the uplifting journey of their love which blossomed against many odds. She opened up about the challenges of being a queer couple embracing a mix of cultures -- Camille's Hindu conventions and Tabitha's American traditions. Despite several challenges and apprehension, their story became a testament to the saying 'Love conquers all.'
Camille And Tabitha's Love Story
"It was back in 2020, I was looking for a serious relationship. I met Tabby on a dating app. We both wanted to take things slow so we decided to exchange Instagram IDs and started bonding. The best thing about her was, that I could be so real in front of her and for a couple of months, we talked literally non-stop! Finally, we decided to meet and it was love at first sight for both of us. Everything felt so right when she was beside me.
But the real challenge was my parents. They weren't against us but they had their own worries as most parents do. I was nervous for my parents and Tabby to meet but it was better than I could have expected and they bonded very quickly. My immediate and extended family all connected with Tabby and that’s one of the many reasons I knew she was the one.
We both were a bit worried because not a lot of people are accepting of LGBTQ+ couples. We decided to go with two different wedding ceremonies to respect our cultures and ethnicity. In the first part of the day, we did a Hindu ceremony and later commenced with an American traditional reception.
I know a lot of people face issues in their relationships because they worry if society will accept them, but trust me. If you just hold on to each other, the universe does conspire to keep you together and in the end, it's all worth it."
