Woman Lists Homemaker Experience In CV

The candidate mentioned several qualities in her CV as a homemaker. The qualities included executing daily routines, commitment to children, handling the responsibilities of the house alone, taking care of family members, and lastly, helping and contributing to her children's growth by helping them with their homework and extra-curricular activities.

What Yugansh wrote?

Yugansh expressed on LinkedIn, "I appreciate this because managing a family is truly a significant responsibility, something that should not be underestimated. Less than 20% of women in India are employed in professional roles, and gender gaps in household responsibilities are most pronounced among couples with children." He further wrote that "Homemaking is a genuine job, and we shouldn't undermine the amount of work involved in running a family."

Homemakers Or Professional Women: The ever-lasting debate

Women possess boundless strength, whether they are homemakers, working professionals, or balancing both roles. They have the ability to surpass limitations and excel in whichever path they choose, wholeheartedly fulfilling each responsibility. With grace, they adapt to various situations, striving to bring happiness to themselves and those in their lives. Their incredible power lies in their capacity to give their best in any circumstance, making them a source of inspiration and positivity.

A crucial aspect is self-discipline in both scenarios. It is of utmost importance to establish a routine in the role of a homemaker, just as it would be in a professional work environment.

Choosing To Be Homemakers

In 2022, a Reddit user initiated a discussion by posting, "Women who opted to be homemakers rather than pursue careers, what led to your decision?" More than 200 women responded, sharing their thoughts and detailing their experiences.

Some people consider homemaking their real job. Expounding on this notion, one individual shared, "It holds both economic and emotional significance. Growing up in a single-parent household where my mother worked full-time, I only grasped its importance when I became a homemaker myself after having kids. It improved the quality of life for everyone, including myself."

What Does Supreme Court Say?

In March last year, the Supreme Court of India, in a statement, said, "Women bear the weight of a patriarchal mindset that confines them to the roles of primary caregivers and homemakers. As a result, they face an uneven distribution of family responsibilities, burdened with societal expectations that perpetuate gender inequality."

Efforts to achieve substantive equality for women consider not only the barriers that limit their entry into the workplace but also the challenges that persist even after they have gained access. Gender's influence in generating unequal outcomes extends beyond mere entry points, impacting women throughout their professional journey.

Homemaking: A Full-Time, Unpaid Profession

A homemaker is an individual, typically a woman, who manages and takes care of the household and family. Their responsibilities may include cooking, cleaning, childcare, organizing, and maintaining a comfortable and nurturing home environment. Homemakers play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and smooth functioning of the household, supporting family members in their daily lives.

Homemakers are sometimes disrespected, undervalued, or not fully appreciated. Despite the significant contributions they make to the well-being of the family and society, their role is occasionally overlooked or underestimated in comparison to paid professions. Recognizing and respecting the efforts of homemakers is essential to acknowledging their vital role in maintaining a nurturing and functional home environment.
