On Instagram, Singh shared a throwback picture with her actor husband, Parmeet Sethi, taken during a vacation in Switzerland.

The caption read, "A while and a minute ago!" She expressed how the photo reminded her of the wonderful moments in life.

However, in response to her post, a netizen left an insensitive comment, prompting Singh to lash out at the troll for his hurtful remarks.

Body-Shaming Comment & What Followed

While the majority of fans left positive comments on the post, there was one comment that targeted Archana's appearance in a demeaning manner.

The now-deleted comment insensitively stated that she looked less like a woman and more like a man, and referenced Kapil Sharma's previous remarks about her improving her beauty over time.

Archana swiftly responded to the Instagram user, condemning their offensive mindset. She firmly expressed, "You hold such a deplorable mindset at this age. Had you studied even a little, you might have known how to behave around elders. Please understand and respect women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and appearances. How can you expect or deserve respect from men if you yourself cannot respect other women?"

Every Girl's Story

Nihan Parveen, an Instagram influencer and content creator, shared her ordeal with creating plus-size content and being called out and receiving hate. On one of her reels, somebody commented, 'Sometimes you gotta keep things slim also,' which resulted in a war of words between the influencer and the hater. She put him in line, telling him to keep his opinion to himself.

Many women face the harsh reality of body shaming, particularly when it comes to being labelled 'fat.' Comments like "Your thighs are thick," "Starting exercise more, and "You eat a lot," are not casual remarks; they can be incredibly triggering and hurtful. Such statements can ignite deep insecurities that may persist throughout a person's lifetime.

Anveshi Sharma, HR at a reputed MNC, said that she has been asked several times to cover up her tummy and has been "guided" to not flaunt her curves so as to avoid looking slutty. She also complains about not finding dresses and skirts in a plus size. And if they do, it's always valued at three times the normal size.

Experiencing fat shaming can significantly erode self-esteem and foster a negative body image. This perception is further reinforced by movies and television shows, where women are constantly exposed to models and actors with so-called "perfect" (tall, thin, and fair) body types and shapes.

When a public figure woman is shamed online, it doesn't take long for her entire womanhood to be mocked and dismantled. This online vilification just goes on to reinforce that it is okay to shame any woman for their appearance. Body shaming is rife on social media and calling out the trollers is a strain on mental health. There were hundreds of instances like this, where women were publicly shamed for the size of their bodies (mostly for being ‘too big’, but sometimes ‘too thin’ too).

However, girls remember, your body, your business. Don't turn a blind-eye to the shamers, confront them head-on and let them know it is absolutely not cool pass judgments.
