Japanese Swimmer Yui Ohashi has added another feather to her cap by winning the Olympic women's 200m individual medley title on Wednesday. Before this, Yui Ohashi had won her first Olympic swimming gold medal on July 25 in the women's 400-metre individual medley.
For her second gold medal, Ohashi touched the wall in 2min 08.52sec and defeated first runner-up Alex Walsh and second runner-up Kate Douglass.

5. She has now become the first Japanese woman to win multiple gold medals at the same Olympics.
6. “It doesn’t feel real, to be honest,” Ohashi said. “I sort of feel like, was it really me doing that?”, she said in an interview followed by her victory.
7. As reported by The Japan Times, she wanted to give up on swimming back in 2015. This was due to her extreme anemia diagnosis. Besides this, she was upset with her average performance at national championships where she was placed 40th.
8. “I train really hard all year round, so I feel that I’m constantly swimming very stably now. The fact that I can swim at a high level without breaking my pace is proof that all that practice is paying off. I hold the national record in the 200m and 400m individual medley events, so I’m not going to lose that easily.”, she had said in an interview. She also mentioned that the Tokyo 2020 Games was the most important and special stage of her career.
