Yashika Anand Remains Hospitalised After Car Accident Near Mahabalipuram

Actor Yashika Anand recently met with a car accident on East Coast Road near Mahabalipuram. The actor's picture from the hospital was seen doing rounds on the internet.

Anand is seen lying on the hospital bed with her injured right leg resting over a couple of pillows.

The actor's friend named Vallichetti Pavani had died on the spot in the accident. Apart from Anand, her two friends accompanying her on the car ride are also hospitalised and are undergoing treatment. As per reports, the actor suffered multiple fractures and underwent surgeries for the same.

The Mahabalipuram police have reportedly registered a case under sections 279 ( rash driving) and Section 304 A (causing death by negligence). Yashika Anand was earlier speculated to have been drunk driving but the police have not filed a case against the actor regarding the same. Anand in the statement claimed that she was not drunk driving.

Describing the events, Anand told Hindu, "The road was really dark, and I unfortunately hit the divider. Our car drifted sharply and then toppled over three times. "

She revealed that her friend Pavani was in the co-passenger's seat and did not have the seatbelt on. The window next to her was also open. When the car hit the divider, Pavani flung out of the window and hit her head. The actor added that the car doors were jammed and she and her friends had to escape via the sunroof.

In a social media, Anand called out people for spreading rumours about her being drunk at the time of the accident. The actor wrote, "Law is same for everyone. For all the cheap people who have been spreading rumours about me being intoxicated while driving let me tell u that police confirmed we weren't drunk at all. An if I was I would have been behind the bars and not in hospital! "

She mentioned a defamation suit she filed against people ruining her image two years ago.
