Freestyle wrestler Geeta Phogat has been blessed with a baby boy on Christmas eve. Geeta and her husband Pawan shared the news with the world via social media. Wishes are pouring in for the new parents from fans, friends, and well-wishers. Geeta and Pawan got married in November 2016. Phogat is the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in wrestling at an international event.

Geeta and her sister Babita Phogat are famous for their spectacular record in the wrestling arena. The film Dangal, starring Amir Khan is based on their struggles, and that of their father to coach his daughters as wrestlers in the patriarchal society of Haryana.

Her Pregnancy
Geeta shared the news of her pregnancy in September. The first female wrestler to have qualified for the Olympic Summer Game shared this news through her Twitter handle. She captioned the picture "A mother's joy begins when new life is stirring inside when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time, and a playful kick reminds that little one is never alone. You never understand life until it grows inside of you."
