Vani Kapoor is emerging to be the player to look out for at The Women's Professional Golf Tour which kicked off on 15th June at the Eagleton Golf Resort, Bengaluru. The Delhi golfer carded 2 under 70 and maintained her first day lead at the eighth leg of the Women's Professional Golf Tour. Picking up where she left off, she hit birdies on the second, fourth, sixth, seventh and ninth holes, and finished with a score of 138.
Coming a close second was Kolkata's Neha Tripathi with 148 points, while the third place was tied between Delhi's Mehar Atwal and Kapurthala's Gursimar Badwal, both with identical scores of 150.
Vani, who finished tied fifth in the Hong Kong Ladies Master, will be aiming to get to the top spot in the Hero Order of Merit. Her main competitors at the Rs.6,00,000 event which features 13 professionals and one amateur are Neha Tripathi, Amandeep Drall and Gursimar Badwal.
Delhi’s experienced golfer Vani currently ranks third in the Order of Merit with total earnings of Rs. 4,46,200 in four appearances with three wins this season. Young golfer from Kolkata, Neha currently leads the rankings with total earnings of Rs. 4,93,433 in seven appearances.

Meanwhile, Kapurthala's Gursimar had her maiden professional title this season. She is the fourth rank holder in the list and her total earnings are Rs. 4,38,200. Amandeep is another good player who had her lone win at Oxford and has been playing consistently in the last year and half. A few other players in the fray are Chandigarh's Saaniya Sharma and Pune's Shweta Galande. The tournament culminates on 17th June.
