The women's debut in the pro-kabaddi league has thrown up some exciting matches. The first match saw ace player and skipper Mamtha Poojari leading the Firebirds to a 25-12 win over the Ice Divas. However, the Divas recovered from that loss soon enough, beating the Storm Queens on Thursday.

Skipper Abhilasha Mhatre led from the front, scoring nine raid points, and helping the team notch up it's first win in the tournament, by a large margin, the final score 28-15 in their favour. The triumph marked a remarkable margin of 13 points. Starting steadily and slowly, Ice Divas were on an equal score of 2-2 five minutes into the game. Skipper Mhatre then achieved her first knock down, following which Meenal Jadhav raided strongly as the Ice Divas by then led 4-2. Before the first half, Storm Queens had a score of 5-7 on the go. Finally Ice Divas fought valiantly and then made a super tackle count in second half leading with 21-10. Storm Queens’ Captain Tejaswini Kumar was struggling hard to get on the top, but lost as Ice Divas emerged winners in the end.
