Women under Taliban: A video of a journalist asking Taliban fighters about the right to vote for women politicians has gone viral on the internet. As soon as the question was asked, the Taliban fighters broke into laughter and asked the cameraperson to stop filming the interaction and he was heard saying, "It (the journalist's question) made me laugh.". The Taliban took control of the country on August 15.

In the video, the journalist was seen asking the Taliban fighters about women's rights under the democracy in the country, responding to the same, the fighters said that rights would adhere to Islamic Sharia law.

However, when the journalist asked if the Taliban government will believe in the democratic vote and if people will be allowed to vote in women politicians, the fighters burst into laughter and asked the camera person to stop filming.

One of the fighters was heard saying, "It (the journalist's question) made me laugh".

Uploaded by Author David Patrikarakos, the video garnered more than 4,36,000 views in less than eight hours of being uploaded.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said, "Women are going to be very active in society but within the framework of Islam."
