Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday delivered his latest Mann Ki Baat to the nation. He congratulated ISRO for its latest achievement in sending 104 satellites to space and especially called out women who are making the country proud in various sports.

This is the 29th edition of the initiative started by the Prime Minister to address the nation. He said that whether it is sports or space, women are not lagging behind in any field.
“Women are moving ahead step by step and achieving success and making the country proud with their achievements,” he said, mentioning the accomplishment of Indian Women’s team in the Asian Rugby Seven Trophy in which the team secured a silver medal.

He also talked about the upcoming International Women’s Day on March 8. “I appeal in India as well, women and young girls are treated better and awareness about them increases. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign is moving forward at a much higher pace.”

He added, “Today it is not just a governmental campaign but has moved on to become a social campaign that is every individual’s duty.” He noted a few other incidents from the recent past like banning child marriage by the Cudalore village in Tamil Nadu. And until now, around 175 instances of child marriages have been stopped, he said.

He talked about another scheme called the Sukanya Samrudh Yojna under which around 55,000 to 60,000 accounts of young girls have been opened in banks.
Apart from that, he announced that Cartosat 2D, a satellite launched by PSLV, has become functional and it will help us in mapping of resources and infrastructure and planning for urban development.
In the 30-minute speech, he also mentioned about the hard work that Indian farmers put in to provide food on our plates and fill granaries. He thanked them for their efforts.
