In shocking news, four masked men gangraped three women in front of their husbands and children in Panipat, Haryana, on September 21. One of the women who tried to flee was attacked and killed.
As per police reports, the incident happened around 1 a.m. when three masked men entered the house armed with a knife and a pistol and sexually assaulted the women, aged 24, 25, and 35, in front of their husbands and children before escaping with cash and silver jewellery.
Three Women Gangraped In Front Of Family
According to a preliminary investigation, police said that the accused asked the family to vacate their home a month ago. One woman said that they were sleeping when the accused entered the house, dragged their husband and children outside, and tied them with a rope. They had then threatened the women not to make any noise and continued to rape them till 4 a.m. on September 21, after which they fled with cash and jewellery.
The women who were labourers came forward after the accused fled, called the village head, and narrated the entire ordeal. The village head gave complete details of the incident to the police, after which the police registered a case against the unidentified accused and started an investigation. The women were sent for medical examination.
A police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Krishna Kumar visited the spot. The forensic team also arrived at the spot and collected evidence.
The villagers and the affected families are left in shock after the terrifying incident. A police investigation is underway.
In a separate incident that also took place on the same night, about a kilometre away from the spot where the three women were gangraped, a man was robbed and his ailing wife was attacked, leading to her death. The police suspect that the same people accused of the first incident could have committed the second one as well. The accused had forced their way into the couple’s home, physically assaulted them, and robbed the man of cash and his mobile phone.
Station House The officer of the Matlauda police station in Panipat said that while no arrests have been made yet, a probe is underway.
