Woman Throws Acid On Ex-Boyfriend: The victim and the accused were reportedly dating each other in the past. When the accused learnt about her boyfriend's intention to marry another person, she allegedly attacked him with acid.
A 25-year-old woman allegedly threw acid on a 28-year-old man on 25th March, Thursday evening, in the Khandari area of Agra.
The victim, identified as Devendra Rajput, died in a hospital due to severe injuries from the attack.
The woman, identified as Sonam, used to work in a private hospital as a nurse and Devendra used to work in the pathology laboratory of the same hospital. According to reports by local staffs, both knew each other for a long time and were in a relationship.
Sonam was angry at Devendra because he was supposed to marry another person on 28th April. She called him on Thursday with the excuse of fixing a fan but her real intention was to talk to him and manipulate him to call off the marriage, Agra Superintendent of Police (SP) Rohan Botre said.
However, as the conversation turned heated, the woman allegedly attacked her boyfriend with acid.
The man was taken to a hospital in Sikandra for his treatments and he died there, unable to survive the attack. The woman too was injured and was admitted to a hospital. Later, the woman was arrested by the Police under Hari Parwat police station.
Another Case Of Acid Attack:
A 50-year-old man allegedly attacked his wife and children with acid. The wife was 45 years old and the daughter was 21 years old, they rushed to a hospital nearby, after the attack. Both suffered severe injuries from the attack. The daughter filed a complaint against her father, accusing him of an acid attack on her and her mother at 3 am of the night while they were sleeping.
