UP: Man Rapes Woman On Pretext Of Getting Her Anganwadi Job

According to the survivor, the accused threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

Woman raped in Moradabad at gunpoint: A woman was allegedly raped at gunpoint in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district on the pretext of being provided with a job at Anganwadi. In her police complaint, the survivor alleged that she met the accused when she was working at a private hospital and was offered a job by him in Anganwadi. while a complaint has been registered in the case, the accused is still absconding.

The woman told the police that the accused, Kailash Sagar, met her on January 31, when she on the way to her home from work. The accused offered a lift to the woman, saying he wanted her to meet his mother as she had contacts with higher authorities which could get her a job in Anganwadi. 

The accused later took the woman into the fields near Pakwara where he allegedly raped her at gunpoint. The survivor further added that he threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

On the basis of the woman's complaint, an FIR was registered against the accused under sections 376 and 503 of the Indian Penal Code. (Punishment for rape & criminal intimidation) as per Pakwara Police Station SHO Rajni Dwivedi.

Similar incident

In an incident reported from the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, a woman constable alleged that she was raped by a colleague on January 10, 2021, under the guise of showing her his room. Additionally, the woman constable alleged that she was threatened with dire consequences for resisting his assault.
