Kate McClure, a New Jersey woman, ran out of gas in Philadelphia. Johnny Bobbitt Jr. was a homeless man who saw her struggling with the situation. He offered to buy her some with the last $20 he had. Little did he know that his altruistic act will be rewarded by the woman in an unbelievable way.

She has now raised almost $160,000 to help him lead a better life.

Kate McClure initiated the Gofundme.com campaign earlier this month as a gesture to show her gratitude for his noble act.

Please help this man get into a home. It is already getting so cold out in Philadelphia, and I can’t imagine what it will be like to be out there all winter. Any little bit will help. - Kate McClure

In her post, she narrates the entire incident and how the man selflessly offered to help her with everything he had. The man's heart-warming gesture touched the woman who is now striving day and night to provide him with the victuals he needs to sustain himself. She also mentions that the benevolence of the man can be gauged by the fact that there were two other men living with him and he shared everything he received from the lady with them. Through her post, she has urged people to donate some money to him so that she could help him live a better life.

The duo's story revives our faith in humanity and it reinforces our belief in the fact that our world is still home to some kind souls who are striving to help each other in difficult times. It is also a stellar example of how social media can be used for initiating something noble.
