A 25-year-old first-year law student allegedly committed suicide by falling off the terrace of a seven-story Bangalore Institute of Technology building at Vishweshwarapuram in south Bengaluru.
Following a complaint from her parents, the police have charged her fiancé with aiding suicide, as per the authorities.

Vani C, a resident of Banashankari in the city and an LLB student at Visveswarapura College of Law in VV Puram was identified as dead.
The incident took place on Monday about 12 o'clock, according to the police. Additionally, the authorities discovered a two-page message in her purse that was reportedly written by Vani just before she passed away.
The incident, according to college principal Sudha G, happened shortly after the morning break and was brought to her attention at around noon.
The principal claimed that although the authorities were unsure of Vani's intention, they felt that family and personal concerns may have played a role in her drastic action.
Vani was engaged and disappointed that her wedding had to be postponed, the police reported. The girl's parents were called to the police station by the VV Puram police after the occurrence in order to gather more information based on the death note.
After receiving a complaint from her parents, the police have opened an investigation into her fiancé Chandrashekar for aiding in suicide in violation of Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 306.
The body was moved to the mortuary at Kempegowda Hospital for a postmortem, and additional investigation is ongoing, according to the police.

Similar incident happened in August, a woman named Mandeep Kaur took her own life. The 30-year-old woman had previously claimed that her spouse Ranjodhbeer Singh Sandhu used to abuse her and made death threats when she tried to leave him.
