Pune Police Arrest Woman and Friend Over Risky Reel Stunt

"After we got information about the video, we launched investigations and managed to trace them. They were summoned to the police station late last night and placed under arrest. We have charged them under IPC Section 336 and others," Senior Inspector Dashrath Patil of Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station told IANS. However, Patil added that since the offence is minor, with a potential jail term of less than six months or a fine, they will not be remanded to custody.

Earlier this week, in an alarming incident reminiscent of a scene from a superhero movie, a woman was seen hanging from the roof of a building in Pune, clinging only to a man's hand. This daring and dangerous act was a stunt performed for an Instagram reel. The identities of the individuals involved in the stunt remain unknown. As the video continues to circulate online, the people responsible for this hazardous act have yet to be identified.

A High-Risk Stunt for Social Media

The scene unfolded near Swami Narayan Temple in Pune, where two individuals decided to test their "grip strength" by performing a life-threatening stunt. Unlike Emma Stone, who played Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Man movie and wore a safety harness for her scene, this woman had no such protection. She hung precariously about 100 feet above the ground, supported only by a man's grip.

Multi-Camera Setup Captures the Act

To ensure the stunt was captured from every angle, a multi-camera setup was used. One person filmed from the roof, another from the ground, and a third cameraman leaned dangerously over the edge to get a closer shot. Despite the high risk involved, no safety measures were taken by anyone involved in the filming process.

Social Media Outrage and Calls for Action

The video, now viral on social media, has sparked widespread outrage. Many users have condemned the act as reckless, unnecessary, and incredibly dangerous. The lack of safety precautions and the potential for a tragic outcome have led to calls for action against the content creators. However, no formal complaint has been registered yet.

The Real-Life Consequences of Chasing Views

This incident highlights the lengths to which some individuals will go to gain attention on social media platforms. The pursuit of views and likes often leads to dangerous behaviour that can have serious, if not fatal, consequences.

The Pune stunt serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with such actions and the importance of prioritising safety over fleeting online fame. While social media can be a powerful tool for sharing creativity and connecting with others, it is crucial to consider the potential dangers and to act responsibly.
