Woman Gives Birth Mid-Air: A woman, onboard a flight heading to Jaipur from Bengaluru, gave birth to a baby girl. According to reports, the mother and the baby who was born, on Tuesday, on flight 6E 469 are stable now.
In a statement released by the domestic airline company, they confirmed that the cabin crew also attended to the woman passenger in the flight.
“Jaipur airport was immediately informed to arrange for a doctor and an ambulance on arrival. Both the baby and mother are stable,” Indigo said in a statement.
The cabin crew onboard and Dr Subahana Nazir, together assisted the would-be mother in delivering a baby girl.
"Dr Nazir, who helped deliver the baby, was welcomed into the arrival hall and a Thank You card was handed over by our Jaipur staff. Great teamwork by all our staff concerned," the aviation firm added.
According to Indigo, the Jaipur airport was informed about the incident and asked to arrange an ambulance on arrival.
A similar incident took place in October 2020, when a woman gave birth to her child on a Delhi-Bengaluru flight.
A video of the mother and baby alighting the flight safely after it landed at the Kempegowda International Airport at night, went viral on social media.
