A Bengaluru woman devised a wicked plan to frame her husband so she could be with her lover. Vidyarani was arrested on Monday for using her husband's phone to send a hoax bomb threat so he could get caught and she could move on with her lover in Bihar. The 32-year-old met Ram Keshav Prasad from Bihar on a job-search app six months ago and their relationship grew fonder. As Vidyarani's husband Kiran discovered their relationship, the adulterers attempted to sabotage him.
According to reports, police caught Vidyarani from her home in Anekal of Bengaluru, and she was released on bail. Vidyarani allegedly sent the message to an IPS officer on WhatsApp message on December 2 at midnight. This alert came amid the frantic search for the perpetrator who sent bomb threats across 68 schools in the city.
What Was The Woman's Motive?
Police told the media that Vidyarani's husband, Kiran, had allegedly broken her phone once before because he caught her in an online relationship with Prasad. He then bought her a different phone and made her break up with Prasad. But Vidyarani allegedly only pretended to do so.
Prasad made another account on the app under a different name to message Vidyarani. He bought a different phone number to message her and they reconciled without Kiran knowing. Knowing that to continue being with Prasad, she had to eliminate Kiran from the scene, Vidyarani planned on sending a hoax bomb threat from his phone to Prasad's to get him caught.
She sent a WhatsApp message to the Karnataka Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and national security agencies, saying "Series of RDX explosions will take place and people will die," from Kiran's phone, and the police arrived at their door to detain him.
But soon the truth unfolded and Vidyarani was caught. Police told the media, "It took some time for Kiran to understand what was happening. We showed him the WhatsApp message. He checked his phone and the message had been deleted. We told him the time and date and Kiran said he was asleep at that time. Then he called his wife, asking her whether she knew anything about this. Her reaction was suspicious. Upon questioning, Vidyarani spilled the beans." Police also stated that an investigation team has reached a village at Darbhanga in Bihar, to apprehend Prasad.
