A woman reportedly fell off a 650-feet cliff of Falkert Mountain in Carinthia, Austria, moments after saying 'yes' to her partner's marriage proposal. Fortunately, the unnamed woman survived the 650-foot drop as she landed on snow which broke her fall, suffering just a concussion.
According to the German tabloid Bild, the 32-year-old woman and her fiance trekked up the mountain a day before the proposal. While the woman is from St Pölten, her 27-year-old partner is a native of Carinthia and the couple had been dating for a while.
According to reports, her fiance too lost his balance and fell 50 feet through the air, while trying to rescue her. However, he gripped onto the cliff's edge. The woman was eventually rescued by an onlooker who found her lying unconscious near a lake. She suffered from a concussion but was not critically injured, as stated by the doctors. Her fiance on the other hand was rescued via a helicopter and was immediately taken to a hospital. Apart from a fractured vertebra, the man has not incurred any other serious injury.
An officer who was present on the scene stated, "The two were extremely lucky. He flew 15 meters through the air. The woman fell 200 meters over rocky terrain. Had it not been for snow, it would have turned out very different."
