Uttar Pradesh Woman Fakes Pregnancy Using Painted Plastic Doll

Tired of hearing taunts about not being able to conceive, an Uttar Pradesh woman faked her pregnancy using a plastic doll.

The 40-year-old woman faked her pregnancy for six months and claimed to give birth to a premature baby, which turned out to be a plastic doll.

The woman had been married for more than 18 years and took the bizarre step as she was exhausted by her family members taunting her for not being able to conceive.

Woman Fakes Pregnancy Using Plastic Doll

The woman faked her pregnancy by regularly visiting the community health centre for treatment. After 6 months, she suddenly complained to her family about a stomach ache.

She painted a deformed plastic doll and claimed that she had given birth to an immature baby. Her family members wrapped up the fake baby in a cloth and took it to the local health centre for a checkup.

The doctor at the health centre examined the fake baby and clarified that it was not a real baby but wasn’t a plastic doll. The doctor also checked the other papers and X-rays related to the pregnancy. The doctor revealed that the papers and X-rays were also fake.

The medical superintendent Dr Harshit said the woman used to regularly visit the health centre for treatments related to stomach infections. Dr Harshit added that the woman did not visit the health centre for pregnancy-related checkups.

The doctor said, “The woman had been married for a long time and was unable to get pregnant… to get rid of the taunts of infertility, she cooked up this story”.

A woman from Georgia, United States allegedly faked a pregnancy so she could get paid time off from work. The 43-year-old Robin Folsom was accused of wearing a fake pregnancy belly to avail maternity leave.

Folsom said she had given birth in July 2020 and the next year she said she was pregnant again. Officials claimed that she faked more than one pregnancy.

Her fake pregnancy unravelled after her colleague saw her baby bump “come away” from her body. When Folsom reportedly showed her colleagues pictures of her baby, they noticed inconsistencies in the skin tones.
