The incident details

The video that has now gone viral features Tripti Devrukhkar, who had visited the Shiv Sadan building in Mulund, situated in the northeastern suburbs of the city, to inspect an office space.

The video has gained widespread attention, depicting a confrontation between Tripti Deorukhkar and a father-son duo of Gujarati descent. In the video, the two men vehemently refuse to rent the property to Deorukhkar, explicitly stating that they won't lease to Marathi individuals.

A resident of Mulund, Trupti Deorukhkar, shared her disappointment on social media, revealing that she was denied accommodation solely because of her Marathi identity. She explained that she recorded the video to prevent the men from later denying their discriminatory behaviour.

Conversely, the men can be heard instructing Deorukhkar to cease recording and put her phone away. When she declined to comply, one of the men forcefully took her phone during the heated exchange.
